Silly Seven

Is there something about turning seven that makes an otherwise perfectly normal child turn ridiculously silly?The handwriting at the bottom says "So funny! I mean it!!! --Mom" (Written as if I had commented on her note.)

Molly, of course, was the ring-leader here. They were pretending to be surgeonts. Yes. That 't' was not a misspelling on my part, it was a mispronunciation on theirs. Thankfully, these were clean underwear.

Service Opportunity

So if you've been sitting around,
wondering what kind of good you can do for the world,
have I got an opportunity for you!

There's this family I know (to keep them anonymous we'll just call them "the smiths") and they are moving on April 25th. Saturday after this one. Starting at about 9 am.

They will most likely need some help with loading/unloading their moving truck. They will almost definitely need some help cleaning their house after they move everything out. If you are not busy, and if you want to score some good-guy points in Heaven...well, you are called to serve.

(If that's not enough, I heard through the grapevine that there will be free donuts and pizza!)

p.s. If you would rather help unload than load, we plan to be at the new house at 2:00 pm.

bought the house

We are (finally) one step closer with the house. Let me tell you, working with the bank is not for the faint of heart! They are just sooo
s . . . l . . . . . . o . . . . . . . . . w. Anyway, last week the bank put the house up for sale, and we offered and counter-offered back and forth until we eventually came to an agreeable price. Our closing date is April 24-ish. We hope to move on the last Saturday in April.

This is the kitchen (it is no longer green, the bank painted it the same neutral beige as the rest of the house). The whole main floor has this same bamboo flooring. I like it. Also, you might notice that the pantry door is black. All of the interior doors are black. When Dave first described it to me, I was freaked out thinking how much of a pain it would be to repaint all the doors. But now I am used to it and I like that too.

Here is the master bedroom. (Not that exciting really, but I like the vaulted ceiling).

This is what made the kids want to move. Under the stairs in the basement is a little built in playhouse. If you look closely, you can see that Jill is leaning in through the window on the side. Molly loves it especially because it has its own light switch in the inside. Lots of fun will be had in there!
